How much do you think a 1990 donzi sweet 16 with a 205 and omc drive on a trailer would be worth? It is bottom painted and needs to be buffed out. This is for a friend that wants to use it on a size and power restricted lake community. Thanks in advance.

I`d say no more than 6000.

6k is very low for the 16. Around 8 is what they go for.

I would take exception to that. I have inspected many OMC boats vs later and earlier boats, and quality wise the hulls seem to be as good if not better. Keep in mind that Chris Craft was producing hulls for Donzi during this time, (indeed many of em have CCV instead of DMR in the HIN) and you would be surprised at the fit and finish of the hull.

The OMC drive is a tough lil bugger. The King Cobra is a better choice all around, but the std Cobra holds up well if properly maintained. No, not the fastest drive on the block, but once the shift mechanism is setup properly, it is a reliable lil drive. Parts continue to be supported by Volvo. Prop wise, get a Flo torq for it and you have a whole world of Merc props, not to mention that turbo makes OMC hubbed props also.

Now the bottom paint, that may be an issue. It is removable, but to do it takes time and patience. I just had the paint removed from a 22. 4.5 days with a sander and a buffer, and the bottom looks like new. Not a fun job, I subbed that one out

Hmm, I might disagree with you on the after, but not on the before. FWIW, I have a 74 and a 92. The 92 is well built, fit and finish wise. Maybe it is because it is a Chris Craft built hull.
