How Tough is a Superboat
#1
Anybody ever break their Superboat? I did...
Well I have to admit, I do run hard. Some times you have no choice. We ran into 4 to 6 footers coming back across the Sound yesterday.
Went down to my boat to give her a once-over after this past weekends trip. What did I find? A broken stringer... The one above the upper strake on starboard side. I wish I had a digital with me. At least in was not one that holds the engine.
Got the fiberglass guy lined up for next week. Need to have my boat ready to rumble again quickly. Two trips to Block planned for August.

Hey Patrick,
How long is the hull warranty on Superboats? Maybe John will help you out? I was just thinking about this the other day while looking over my boat. The only thing I can find on mine is a very small stress crack towards the bow, right above the rub rail. It may have come from hitting a dock or something.

My Boat is a 1997, so I did not expect it to be under warranty.
Jim, I do believe John did warranty work on Zuperboat's 30', and he is not the original owner.
Dave, I am glad to here that you have not had similar issues. I also have cracking along the seam between the sides of the hull and the shelves that the battery and trim pump are mounted.
I must say that I am a little disappointed, and I am hoping that I don't have a problem like this again.
I have heard only good things about Superboats over the years and that is why I bought one.

I was at Claudio's this afternoon. A bit rough going home while trying to outrace a storm that blows in your face...
17: We have a race in Pt. Pleasant on the 15th, back on the 16th. Maybe I can make Block.
Sounds like we will miss you at the Shinnecock-Claudio's run on the 9th.
