Question Automotive paint on boats???

Is it true that automotive paints will blister on boats after a few days in the water??

Thumbs up PAINT

I have used a two part automotive paint on a fiberglass pontoon boat that stays in the watter and have had no problems. This paint is two years old.

Check out the red on my Cigar boat. Someone painted over the gel coat. It sucks and has alot of orange peel in it. Might have to have Gary do something about it if I get all the other bugs worked out of the drive first!

F**king boats!

I used Imron on one of my transom assemblies that I rebuilt and it stays in the water. It actually cracked in places like it shrunk or something.

Im not sure. I think it is. Before I rubbed it out I thought some hillbilly might have rolled it on.

I can vouch for the fact that imron does NOT hold up in underwater applications.....and the manufacturer does not claim that it will.....

I had a 1972 sutphen that I had painted in 1985 Imron white. That paint is still on the boat's hull today. I think alot of it has to do with who is painting it and the prep work. Isn't Imron used on Navy ships?
