Exclamation The Sub is up and almost running - guess how fast and win!

One engine is in and the other (barring a disaster or mechanic stupidity) will be in tomorrow.
1988 32' Pachanga with brand spanky new 575hp/NA502's, Bravo I's, and Merc 26 inch props.

She was running a GPS speed of 58mph with 330hp/454's + Alphas and 23 inch Cleavers...down river with a 6 mph wind at our backs.

Who can guess closest how fast she'll go with the new setup?
My guess....73mph.

How fast was the river current..........without that, we'll never know what the true speed was before.

Let's see. 23 cleavers, 1.5 ratio, 58mph, I'd guess about 4500 rpm would put you at 11% prop slip.

So, 26 cleavers, 1.5 ratio, 5200 rpm? and 11% prop slip

I say 76 mph

I think the 73mph will be pretty close. Maybe a little slower till you get the props dialed in.

This coming from the guy whose boat spends so much time on it's trailer that it has permanent bunker marks in the hull!!

And the rev limiter is set for 5200rpm....
