Default Houston Lab prop results

Back from vacation.

The results:

Before

232 Boss 7.4 MPI spining Mirage plus 23
Best Mph ever : 61.2
2 pers. 1/2 fuel
4550 rpms

After :

Labed 25 mirage (1/8 diameter cut down) + cup

62.7 mph under same load. Tought I saw a 2 mph gain but sunday I tried everything and it's realy a 1.5 mph gain. I am runing 4450 RPMs wich is 100 less than before.

I can't trim as high as before. I have to trim to maximum and then click one or two times the drive down.

Darin: Have you labbed that prop to it's maximum? Is another 100 rpms possible. Also, should we add more cup so I can raise my drive as high as before?

Thanks

if I was you it might be time to add some aftermarket exhaust and an ecm remap to get you another 200 rpms, that would put you just right and pick up some more speed,

Question LAB JOB/maxium or not

I am in New York On Vacation, and will be back next week,I do remember the conversation and that you did not want the prop super thin. But it can be done ,overall sounds pretty good.H2xMark may be right a little exhaust work may be the ticket. Its up to you .

Sean my brother is running the shop and actually did your prop,he did a great job ! I looked at it .if you want call him at the shop Monday 281-580-prop we have been to PA.,Jersey,And having a blast in New York! We will be back next Monday! Thanks again for the Business.Let us know what you want to do !

we try to give you the most bang for your buck and there is no charge to add more cup or what ever!

you are getting more bow lift with your prop now so you do not have to trim it as much, 1.5 mph on a prop is good in my book, now I would do some engine mods to get some more rpm's out of it. and get a speed increase as well.

You are right GLH, I would have to put some band-aid on the blades each time I park the boat at the beach so people dont get cut... I will send it back to Houston. By the way, I have seen a 1997 29 Outlaw for sale. This is a F$%$#in of a deal. And yes, it is a REAL 29 GL! Two 7.4 MPI with bravos. Guess it would run in the mid 60's. Add some lab props and then, Should be able to follow that Café Racer... ;-) I have heard of some blistering issues on 1997-98 Bajas... I will do my home works.
