Simply Awesome . . . Drive Failure
#1
Having just met Bruce Seroff and Throttleman Paul Lucarelli for the first time, right after they broke a drive several laps into the race, one can only feel their disappointment. Although to talk to them you would never know it. They are fun loving friendly guys with great attitudes!!
Several laps into the race, they were leading the field and pulling away when the failure struck. This was after Paul had a strike of his own . . . a sea gull strike to the forehead!! Paul was fine, but they will be checking the onboard film footage to see the fate of the gull. Bruce told me that the gull just flew in front of the boat and stayed there until the collision!!
Bruce, great meeting you and Paul. Thanks for your input on OSO and good luck on the rest of the season!

WOW!!!!
A well deserved win for sure. Not just because we were over due. But because we were actually in third throughout most of the race. We may have been a bit heavy on fuel. But we just pushed it as best we could and slowly closed the gap as we burned off fuel. Paul kept it pinned and we picked up ground at every turn. Finally the Pantera proved itself, once again in the snotty water and we overtook the Carrera when they were trimmed to the sky and couldnt keep the boat in the water. Then it was time to go after the twin screw 30 foot scarab. We passed them in lap 7 of 8 as they slowed with mechanical trouble. they tried to get back into the game, but it was too late.
Albert...congrats to you as well with the new baby.
Best wishes and health to you and your family.
We plan on coming down to Sarasota. Maybe we will see you there. The oil is changed and the boat is all ready to go. Unbelievable.
Kirk ...thanks again

Hello all, Pantera24-650 it was great to meet you, Bruce's 28 is the best running boat I have had the privalege to throttle, when the water gets rough this boat shines. I have throttled boats 10' longer and those boat's have nothing on this 28. Looking foward to a National and World Championship, and last, a moment of silence for the Sea Gull. OUCH
