What temps are people running with similar set up?. I have a 540c.i. with an 871 blower, no chiller.

I run a similar set-up with twins. It really depends on how hard I'm running.
Cruising - Water 120, Oil 210
Running Hard - Water 150, Oil 240
When my oil gets close to 250, I back out of it for a little while.
What are your temps running?

that sounds good. What is your water pressure at w/o? If it is lower than you like maybe take some 90 degree turns out of the line.

Water 120, Oil around 190 under 4000 rpm's, running hard the oil gets to 230 which I thought was a little high. Im hearing conflicting safe oil temps.

What oil are you running? I think you can safely carry a higher oil temperature while running a high quality synthetic than a mineral oil. I wouldn't think 230 is too bad for a synthetic oil

I use Kendall Racing 20/50. Some people say stay at 190 oil temp, some say 230 is still ok.

Synthetic is done around 280.

You need to get at least 212* on the oil temp at some point to boil off the condensation that occcur. 230* is just fine after a hard run.

Thats good news. With the engine w.o.t. it doesn't go over 230, then drops right down to 190 or 210 as soon as you bring the rpms down below 4000
