all seem pretty close in price ($300). from some of the reviews to lowest price i would not want to buy from them.Company's with Bad reviews.

Some of the pictures i have been posting here and in the uncensored section have been grainy .



I am mainly taking pictures of boats in sun lite,girls,poker runs from the boat,girls, drag races of cars in the day time on the starting line leaving and zooming,girls,car shows prob inside,girls, some moving shots, also would like to do some videos,and down loading on web site forums, and emailing.

I now have a evision 2 mp with 2 op zoom . all the pictures are not clear and grainy, it want take under florescent lite turns yellow..

i figure spending around 400-700 complete.

What yalls opinion ? .any other cameras you suggest to look at?

I LOVE MY S400 Cannon power shot. 4.0 You can record film with sound and take amazing stills. The camera takes 10th of a second to focus and change the contrast so you always get the best picture. You can get everything for less the 650. I shopped around for almost a year and waited until the much hyped Cannon was available. The software is also out of this world.

i want a new one too that doesnt take 10 seconds to finally take the picture after i push the button,, it drives me nuts,,, i have 2 and they both do the same chit,, any input on this?

Jonas, you might want to check your settings. If that's not it you might want to call the tech line... mine only takes that long when I have high settings. Check it out and let me know how it turns out.

I bought an Olympus C-50 zoom a few months ago (my second Olympus). It has been great. I also bought a 256MB xd picture card to go with it. I paid about $600 for all of it. I bought mine at best buy, they come running when I walk in the door

It will take up to a 5 megapixel image. With the 256MB card it will take 1598 low quality pictures and 105 super high quality pictures before you have to download them. It will also do panoramic pictures and short quicktime movies. The software it comes with is simple and great.

It is a small camera and I wasn't sure I would like it at first but it has been great.

Sony have done it again, the DSC-V1 is a camera which can easily appeal to a wide range of buyers. It's small enough to be carried out more yet featured enough to still be attractive to the prosumer owner. It's notably smaller and lighter than the competition yet can still produce the goods from an image quality point of view and has the majority of the manual controls you could need.

While the DSC-V1 may not carry some of the extraneous features of Canon's PowerShot G5 or Nikon's Coolpix 5400 it is still more than capable of delivering excellent images. Sony have stepped away from their old image of 'Disney color' images and instead concentrated on quality, neutrality and balance. Resolution is as good as the best, although detail suffers because Sony's demosaic and sharpening algorithms still aren't quite as good as Canon's (they're getting close).

The DSC-V1 doesn't pretend to be anything more than a quality compact digital camera with a useful zoom range and high resolution sensor, and it gets the job done at $100 less than the competition. What more could you need, and how could I rate it any lower?
