Default Restoring a 38 Special

I'm restoring a 1993 38 Special and contacted Baja for some various parts. They said I have to go through a dealer (Oh Boy, this is going to cost me) So I called Big Thunder Marine to price out a couple of little things to feel them out. WOW!! I had no idea that Baja Parts were made of GOLD!!

I was priceing newer white hatches to replace the dark brown ones on my boat. They wanted $370.01 each for the front ones and "Get this" $598.45 Each for the rear!! WTF?? I guess I'll just have to make do.... or can I paint them?? I've seen some boat's with grafic's that are painted over them???

Oh I also priced Bolster seat switches at $53.41 each....I can find them just about anywhere!! I bet cheaper to!!

Thanks,
One broke a$$ baja owner!!

Ouch...a bit much there.
They are just standard Bomar hatches...should be able to get them at most boating goods stores.

If they are just Bomar-I have a web site address you might be able to get them. Let me know Brad, I am really looking forward to seeing your new boat. I LOVE projects!!!!! Take before during and after pics! Let me know if you want that address for that site!

Call your local Chevrolet dealer and tell them you are restoring a ten year old luxury car and need a grill, the trunk, and the power seat switch.....

This is not a Baja issue. This is an old boat issue.

My two bits.

A boat is a wood lined hole in the water in which you pour money.

i am assuming you have mcleod bolsters. talk to brandi at mcleod, they are in taylor michigan. she is awesome. the switches only come in white and they are 15 dollars. i was in the area and she gave me 3 to switch out my black ones from my 2000 342, at no charge and offered to repaint the frames(some mild pitting) at cost. they have good customer service there...
