Hot Alternator

Just noticed after running today that the alternator is running hotter than the exhaust risers. It doesn't seem right. Any suggestions on where to start looking. Single engine 7.4L.

make sure the cooling fan is for the right rotation,if so replace alternator

check the belt tension. I had a slipping belt and it casued TONS of heat.
