Question myrtle beach launches?

Heading out/over to North Myrtle Beach (renting a house on Sunset Island)area later this month for a week of boating on the ICW. Does anyone know of any fresh water boat ramps in the area? I have a '01 26 Daytona on a painted Extreme trailer......don't really want to dunk it in salt and the forklift guys at the marinas around there aren't too sure they can lift my cat off the trailer. Anyone familiar with my problem? Thanks.

I don't know about that end of Mrytle, but at the lower end (Surfside) there is a ramp at the Wacaweechee landing that is brackish water. Mostly fresh. This is the only one that I personally have used. If you need further information just ask

There is a ramp right under the Rt 9 bridge in N.Myrtle Beach that is pretty good and free. It is in brackish also. I also would not leave a trailer there overnight since there are some local kids that hang there.

Look for the landings on the socastee river. There are several around between HWY. 301 and surfside that you can launch from!! It's been awhile but I will check with a friend who has a place down there and see if he has some suggestions.

Got some info for ya

Go to the following website

SCDNR

Download the boating facilities guide (adobe file). Go to Horry County (Page 56). #3 is the Socastee one but not sure if it is the one I am thinking of.

I would download this file, print it, and scout them out when you get there before launching!!

Have Fun
