Default Speedmaster props Small to Large spline

I'm running Kammas with the same prop shaft as a merc
#3 drive(19 count small) I just purchased a pair of ssm props that I was told were the small shaft but I get them and they are for a large shaft. The props are really nice and thats the bummer. I've been told that there is an adapter you can put on so the large shaft props will fit. Is this true and if so were do I find such a device? Thanks for any advice..

Try Doller or BAM.

I have heard they are available, but I have never priced them.

What are you running the Kaamas on?

KaamaScarab30

I talked to a couple of people yesterday and found that they are available for $300.00 per side. It would be nice to have because of the availability of the 26 tooth
spline. There seem to be a larger selection of 26 tooth than 19 tooth hubs. I found a set of adapters to try. I will let you know how they work.

By the way I'm running the Kammas on my 357 and I also have a 311 Formula with kammas. I would love to find another set of original Kamma 4 blades but they seem to be pretty scarce. I've been trying to find the right setup all summer since one of my kamma 4 blades broke this spring for no reason. Oh well I still got a little time to dial it in.

I had the same thing happen last year. How are the prices on the large shaft props? I lucked out and found a pair of small shaft props in great shape for $1000. They were an inch smaller pitch and a half inch larger diameter than my old props. If they are a little off, I will just send them off this winter.

When I had 19 spline speedys, I tried the Arneson adapters. They require too many mods to the propshaft, IMHO. Rik was good about it and accepted them back without hassle.

A buddy (he also built a pair for his boat) made a pair of large propshafts custom made out of special high-strength alloy. They were expensive, but also the best solution for me. He never broke them (he previously broke 4 of the 19 splines) and his engines are 1,300 each.
