ECM reading with a PC ??? can it work ??

Hello !!!

Have anybody connect a PC to a Mercruiser 1993 502EFI ???

I have found the free software: DataMaster

DataMaster-M3 Beta v3.4.21
NOTE: Only works with MODE1 Datastream which must be enabled in the PCM firmware.
Supports MEFI-3 Marine and GM Performance Products Ramjet 350 / 502 EFI systems.

And i have a datawire from PC to ECM !!! from:

i have connect the PC to A=ground and G=Datastream
but nothing at this time !!! We have bad weather at this time so i test it more in the next days !!!

Have anybody a idea ???

I'm surprised someone hasn't done it. I use vag-com for my VW so I can get in there a muck with every computer system onboard from my laptop.

I use the laptop program from Rinda!! what a great program!!! the best feature is the record feature!!! You can run the engine normally , then view the data.. You can also Email the data you have recorded... I like it much better than the scan tool. you can watch 50+ different paramiters at once, instead of just one at a time like on the scan tool. well worth the money!!!

Oh !!!

I have hope in USA someone have test and used this way to read a ECM from a Mercruiser !!!

In germany nobody can help me !!!

Anybody else, can help me !!!

Thanks, I wonder what Arizona Speed and the supercharger companys use to reprogram the mercury ecm's. Maybe somebody knows!

OK Rinda software Diacom Marine are the best !! Have you a Rinda testprograme ??? Or can anybody make a copy for me ??

I know az speed cant reprogram the 496 motorola ecm so they use a new delphi one.

to MikeScarab: We work with the Rinda software, but it
is only for analysing the engines parameters and you
can not recalibrate or reprograming the ECU.
It's not what you need whan you like to change some
ECU parameters.
