What is the 454 LXI?

What is the 454 LXI?
I've seen some boats advertised w/ these motors. HP? Torque? Anything someone should be aware of? Are these good motors. What makes it different from the 454 MAG EFI?

The Merc 7.4LXI (assuming this is what you're referring to) was offered in late '96 and '97. It's the old peanut port 454 that was rated 300 PSHP, but the 454 Magnum MPI was added to it. It was kind of a hydbrid. It was rated at 330 PSHP. After '97 they switched to the Vortec 7.4 engines. Hope this is what you were looking for.

I thought the 454 Magnum MPI was the 385 PSHP. Am I wrong?
