Default New race in Orange Beach,AL?

Got a call from a friend down there that the word on the street is that there is a National Race set in November that had been previously set for Key West. He had no clue whether it was SBI or APBA, he is not really into racing, just into what goes on where he lives. Anybody know anything? I will be there in a heartbeat regardless of the sanctioning body. Don't want to start a rumor but my buddy is very reliable. What's up?

I will try to check this out thru my friends down in Orange Beach. The promoter of the last race, Gary Nichols, has no problem paying the bills,I will assume he would promote this race, so money is not a problem. Stay tuned.

How about it Steve or Mike A. Any problem with Key West???? I just booked my air tickets to Key West yesterday.

Maybe SBI is going back rather than to Deerfield Beach.

I just got a letter today from the Key West promoter about the worlds today. It also had a marathon logo plus a Key Largo race logo? What is going on?

I've got an Orange Beach connection too, I'll see what I can find out.

SBI didn't have anything scheduled in KW to be relocated, and APBA changed from Tampa/St. Pete to the Bahamas for one of their last races last year.

I do have to say, there is alot more BEACH in Orange Beach than in KW

Question

Didn't SBI have a race in Orange Beach in August? If so, would the city be ready to support another race in Nov.?

We have thousands in deposits in KW already in rooms alone. This would be a major issue.....hopefully it's not a rumor like the Bahama's race not happening turned out to be...

Room deposits can usually be refunded if you cancel within a few days. Airfare is another story.

I just can't see APBA letting go of KW.

What did the promotors letter say?

Airfare has penilties if changes are made.
