Has anybody seen the new '04 290SC?

Looks like it has a raised deck for increased headroom.
No bowrails?
I'm not sure I like that glass windsheild?

The top deck looks alot like my 280. I have the windsheild and love it. I am not crazy about the VR 1/SC 290 square dash though, probably OK in a race boat but compared to others boats in the same class it looks lousy. The 280 has a much more finished look to it. The flip up door entry also looks like an afterthought. The outside of the boat looks great, they just need to do something with the cockpit interior. The cabin looks fine.

Being a big believer in the Stepp bottom design and lots of seat time in the 22 and 26, now the 280, I love the new 290. The VR-1 is the first boat that I would love to own other than my Canadian Velocity, and the addition of the 290 now makes it very wife friendly. Can't wait to see it in person. The dash is the same they used on the old 22-26' Throughbreds and they weren't that well liked by the magazines back then...although I found the VR-1 dash just fine.
