Default 500EFI Oil Filter????

I am going to switch from the Merc filter and go with Fram, does anyone know the FRAM # for the 500efi?

Thanks

Not sure of Fram #. The Mobil One filter is the M1-302

P.S. Good choice -- I had multiple problems w/ the Merc's. Water sep's also. Using Quicksilver sep's and never had a problem.

They are the same filter---just a different label.

I use the AC Delco pf932 extra big oil filters and the tp1239 fuel seperator/filters and have no problems at all. Cheaper too.

What is the problem(s) with the Merc. Racing oil filters. The black blends nice, Original equipement etc. Not cheap. Please advise.

Black? Did they change the colors or are you thinking of the water seperator? I haven't used Merc's filters for quite a while.

The quicksilver is white, the Merc. racing is black with orange trim, as is the merc. fuel filter - not as nice as the blue, but blends in nice. By the way, when one sees a filter matching the custom paint of some motors, or the true blue of the Merc. racing, do they paint several for future replacement, or is it a type of cartridge or filter cover.

Thanks for the #s, I am switching just because it will be easier to buy the filter at Wal-mart when I buy the oil. Wal-mart has best deal on Mobil 1 syn 15w-50, on sale for $17.99 5 qt, no sale $22.32. Also it seems when ever I need the merc filter local dealers are out of them

Thanks

WILL
