The used V-10 Fords are 5-6k less than a PSD of the same Model Year. If I buy a new to me truck it will sit mostly in the garage as a 3rd vehicle. I can't in my mind justify a PSD if there are no obvious problems with the Ford V-10.

Thanks in advance.

Before I bought my PSD I drove the V-8 and the V-10 (F250) The V-10 didn't seem to have any more power then the V-8 but burned more gas.

I like our V-10 and we don't use it a whole lot so PSD did not warrant the extra expense.
It loves gas but what's 12 MPG after a day on the water at .8 MPG.

I've got an '02 F-250 with a V-10 with 22,000 miles and I have absolutely no complaints so far. It's strong and pulls hard.

I could not justify the cost of the PSD either I went with the V-10. I am not sorry. It pulls my 38 with not any problems at all and even though not rated for it it, pulls my 47 Fountain very well.

just a gas guzzler. i had a 4 dr 250 got 11-13 mpg , freind had the pwrstroke and got 18-22 mpg . just a matter of choice- either will pull the house down , just that purchase factor as the stroke cost more.

I am Ok with mine 45K miles. pulled the 27 beak boat and the 28 Pantera no problem. Does use some gas though. Ran down i-80 at 75mph no problem and did fine here around the lake with all the hills. No problem stopping with the surge brakes on the trailers.

Had a 1999 F-350 V-10. that hing would run. Mild changes were added like a powerprogrammer and a K&N intake kit, along with a flowmaster exhaust kit. I would run around town around 14-16 and hit the highway hitting 18-19 with it. Only towed little trailer with it, but could out run any import off the line along with my brothers 2003 4dr 1/2 ton dodge that we worked up with the same adds. Had great luck with it, no probs at all. With the flowmaster it send out a funny rumble kinda like a nascar running.

I have a 2001 F-250 V10 85,000 miles (no MX problems just tires and oil changes) 14Mpg/hwy - 7Mpg towing; towed 42 Fountain to west coast over mountains, towed many Top Guns to Florida. If you can afford the gas It'll go. I love the diesel performance but hate the smell and noise; personal preference.
