Default Shipping a boat to sweden?

I had an old boat on Ebay that needed a bunch of work. I had it winterized halfway through the auction, and the marina found some rotted wood in the bilge area by the front motor mounts. I stopped the auction due to finding out about this. I have gotten a ton of emails from people wanting to buy this boat. The first one offering the $, wants to western union it to me, and ship the boat to sweden! Were talking about a 1991 glastron cuddy cabin. How much would it cost to ship from Oklahoma to Sweden? $10,000? Sounds strange to me. What do you guys think?

No, but I am selling it to him for $2,500 bucks! He wants me to store it for 1mo, and then the shipper will pick it up.

My 2 cents...

I would have him wire the money and go for it. Make sure you're both taking US dollars.

Good Luck!

Sounds fishy, but if he wires you the money and it clears before you ship the boat, why not? Just be sure that it's not being sent with a stolen credit card. Also, don't give out any account info and don't give any refunds!

Sounds like a scam to me. There's a lot of these floating around. Like mentioned, don't give out any of your info. If he does indeed send you the money, then cool. Be wise.

The screwy thing is that the scam (if it was one) is reversed. They guy wants to pay him the money. That's why I said to wait for the check to clear and to not offer a refund.
