Patchogue Holiday Boat Parade

Don't put that pontoon away just yet -- private boat owners are invited to show off their watercraft one last time for the season at Patchogue's fourth annual holiday boat parade. Spectators are invited to congregate in the park behind Division Street along the Great South Bay, where they'll have a fish-eye's view of the primped-and-preened portholes, lighted lazarettes and Yuletide yachts that cruise by. Prizes will be awarded to the best-decorated boats, and Santa himself will float by on the final vessel of the evening to hand out candy canes to kids on the shore. Hot chocolate will keep everyone toasty and warm. Who needs a sleigh and reindeer when you've got a sportboat and first mates?
