Unfortunately it was not a good day in Key West.
In the morning race, 14 boats took the green flag and only 11 completed the first lap.
Pantera sank, High Risk and another boat were also involved.
Since I was at the harbor turn, I did not see what happened out at turn 5.
Thankfully, everyone was said to be "OK". My wife spoke with Angel just as he was leaving for the hospital to see Jo and Pepe. We had to return to FLL today, so could not stick around to get any more details.
The afternoon race, Reliable Carriers flipped, also in turn 5, they too were OK.
Brioschi flipped as well!Oh

Wow, where were you sitting? We were in Fort Walton watching, and the stretch between turns 5 - 6 was pretty nasty. Outgoing tide, incoming waves, cross wind rolling off the island made for a bunch of airtime for the drivers. Once you swung turn 6, it was a short, nasty short chop run till you passed the 2 nun bouys off the park (right where High Risk flipped) then it laid down. Several of the Supercats and also the Super Vee's took that turn real wide trying to keep the boats under control / upright..

Pics to follow it they came out..

Desantis won the race and Championship.
Popeyes 2nd in Championship and 3rd in race. I did not hear about anyone else.

Billy Mauff got Married on the deck of his raceboat.

That is all I heard today.

Did anyone hear about SCLT? Big John was in HighRisk so I do not know who ran with Paul.

From the sea wall it appeared to be calm. everything past turn 4 was not calm at all.

A checkered flag was given to Liquid Metal and In Contempt in Super Cat Lite.
