Boating in Tennessee

Boating in Tennessee
I have just received a good career opportunity in Shelbyville, Tennessee. My question is what good performance boating lakes are within a 3 hour drive? Do any of them offer good marinas with potential rack or dry storage for a 36' performance boat? Any direction in this situation would be appreciated. Thank you.

This would be the closest to you. About 30 miles. Never been on the lake myself.

Jeff,
Might take a look at Lake Cumberland in southern Kentucky. Quite a few performance boats on it. I would welcome another 36 Outlaw to the lake. Would be nice to have one there of the caliber that yours is speed wise.

Tims Ford is a nice lake.
Norris is also.
I boat on Old Hickory Lake which dumpe directly into the Cumberland River. I am in the Nashville area.
As far as lakes within driving distance of you, there are several.
Your location won't suck.

Jeff,
I can't remember what the Lake is called, but North of Shelbyville is Smyrna/LeVergne. I think it is Old Hickory... it is about an hour away and is a fairly large lake. My dad lives in Franklin and works in LeVergne. I'll ask him if there is storage around there.

Jeff, I've been on Tims Ford. Its clean but not alot of places to eat on it. Also not alot of offshore boats, mostly jet v-drive and bass boats. Percy Priest is a small lake but fun for a sat or sun, hanging out in party cove. No place to really dry dock their. Old Hickory is a backed up river. You can dry dock there and does have some good places to eat. Lake Cumberland is closer than Norris. I've been to both. Prefer Cumberland but I've been going there longer, it's a little over 3 hours. I can make it there in about 3, and my friend that lives in Shelbyville could make it in about 3.5. That was before 840 was built.Let me know if I can help.
