Default Nothing else to do......so I fired up the boat.

Off all this week and got a little bored, so I fired up the boat just for kicks. Now I wish I didn't.......no water coming out the exhaust......ah new impellar time. OH well, at least I'm finding out now instead of in the spring.

You need to make sure the boat is backed in enough to have the seawater pump at or below the water level. I don't think the seawater pump will pull water up a dry hose.

I agree. If you did`nt need an impeller before, you do now.

Yes it will, when I winterize the engine, all I need to do is hook up the muffs to a hose that is in a five gallon bucket of RV antifreeze and start the engine. The sea water pump will suck it dry in seconds. when the pink stuff comes out the tailpipes, then it is winterized. Of coarse I warm the engine up first with the water hose to open the thermostat, then go to the antifreeze. Now on an alpha drive, it will not suck up the water on it's own. That is when I use a bilge pump to push the antifreeze through the drive.
