3 to be charged in vandalism of vehicles

An 18-year-old woman and two 17-year-old boys suspected of shooting out about 120 car and truck windows with a BB gun will be charged Monday, Whitehall police said yesterday.

The charges could include criminal damaging and felony vandalism.

Police said one of the three confessed involvement in the shootings, which took place early Monday morning in Whitehall and on the East Side.

Whitehall police Sgt. Robert McKelvey wouldnÂ’t say yesterday how they were led to the trio.

"LetÂ’s just say that several sources were developed yesterday," McKelvey said. The Dispatch is not naming the three because they have not been charged.

Residents of a Whitehall neighborhood hit in the vandalism said they had seen a red-and-white van filled with young men cruising slowly through the area.

It was unclear yesterday whether the three suspects, who all live on the East Side, would be arrested or just summoned to court, McKelvey said.

About 100 vehicles in Columbus and 21 in Whitehall had their windows shattered in the shootings. Police said initially that the damage might have been caused by a BB gun or a slingshot, and that nothing appeared to have been stolen.

The shootings stretched from between Bexley and Whitehall, and south of Whitehall from Main Street to I-70.

I can think of one who could probably use some sense beat into him I've heard stories like his before but also caught this persons act. And it was very plain way they got hassled by the law all the time.

They caught a Kid a few years ago around me that cut over 50 car tires. After they locked him up, Somehow his car got burned down. Plus he had to pay for all the tires.

Let`s not jump to conclusions. At lest give him the benefit of the doubt. However......if it should come to pass that it was....one of our ownI think that we should get and official OSO ''road trip" organized to provide the much needed "guidance''.

I dont go on 270 anymore. Stopped going around 2 weeks before everything started. And plus I am not 17 yet.

Can't be him looks like some of the shootings happened after his curfew, and god knows he's home by then.

There is now way Hyper could of done this, he is always on OSO He can't get in trouble with influences like us, right? Plus he is not 17 yet.

See, there you have it. It was`nt him after all. Road trip cancelled.
