Default Poker Run Question?

What kind of hand usually wins?

How many cards do you normally get (min and max)? I know most of (if not all) the time you can buy ad extra card/cards, for a price.

Normally at least five cards. Extra cards can be bought for anywhere from ten to fifty bucks apiece depending on the event. It is not unusual for a winning hand to have "four of a kind".... I've seen people spend a lot of money for extra cards, sometimes as many as 20. I personally think it is a good idea to limit the number of extra cards that can be bought to keep it more fair, so that someone is not "buying" their prize.

At ours, you cannot buy extra cards, but you can buy extra hands.

At the first poker run I ever attended, I had a flush. Now, anybody that's ever played five card poker knows thats a for sure winner.........nope! Another guy had a full boat. It just so happens, he is the guy that hosted a party for the poker run the night before. Coincidence????

also when you buy extra hands you need to make your piles of envelopes in advance and you cant mix and match hands....
