Today I had my last Dr's appointment. Almost three years ago I injured my spine and following a fusion surgery last year, a bone graft came loose and caused a serious spinal cord injury. I couldn't walk for three months and feared I might never recover. I still have problems but am able to do things that I thought I may never do again. I was forced into retirement from my career with the police dept. and have undergone a major change in lifestyle but..I can walk. My wife has been incredible and spent every day at the hospital and by my side when I couldn't care for myself. 6 surgeries total and months in the hospital. I don't think I could have handled it as well as her.
You guys have kept me entertained over the last few years. Ive spent a lot of time here as I haven't had much else to do. Sometimes I had a bad attitude and it was usually when I was having a bad day/week/year
Some of you have become friends and I hope that continues. As you might have guessed, I have a pretty good New Years resolution. To get on with my life. Thanks to everyone and stay healthy!

PS. Vagrant, if your reading this don't freak out. My case was a lot more complicated than I could describe here. You'll be healed up soon.

Anyone who has ever been thru significant health issues can have some understanding of what you have been dealing with. Hats off for making it thru, I have been following your posts and you have been thru the ringer something aweful.
