IRL trying to buy CART assets / APBA SBI OSS
#1
I read at noon that the IRL was trying to purchase CART's assets from bankruptcy.
Man Tony George really messed up open-wheel racing in the US in 1996 when he started the IRL.
When it was one circuit it thrived, with two organizations, one his dying and nobody cares about the other one at all save for one race (Indy 500).
There should be a lesson there for the APBASBIOSSMOUSE gang.

Don't move it - copy it. The Racers have every right to their point of view, but us payin' folk (i.e. fans/consumers) are the ultimate customers. Indy fans voted with their feet and their wallets - the 500 hasn't sold out since 1995. Think about it, OSS....

did you hear them complaining that IRL was buying CART just so they could kill it...
I think the response was "how can you kill something that's already dead..."
I thought that was great. This is what open wheel racing needs in the US. Now hopefully the Offshore Racing bodies will learn a lesson from this...

I think for any Motorsports it is good to know that eventually History will repeat itself and if it has not worked in other forms of motorsports then what makes you think it will happen in your specific motorsport??????

see what happens next
