Cell phone cancelation

Default Cell phone cancelation

Anybody cancel their contracts early and not pay a fee. I have AT&T and want to get out early.

I did... call and get a supervisor, explained how I was not happy with service.. then get their super... explain the same... finally they got sick of me and let me out

THat is about a 3 hour phone call, 6 disconnects + with ATT

Was it a 1 or 2 year contract? 2 Years are not legally binding in most states. Rag's

Tell them that you have moved and they don't have service in your new location. I did that with Sprint and they released me from the contract.

Interesting.....never heard of this one......care to elaborate?? I just signed a 2 year contract with Sprint.

Good Luck AT&T is the best cell service. However the worst when trying to get out. I just got the cheapest service and let it run out. If the new company you are going to is nice and really want your business the might eat the cost if you sign a new contract with them.

I used to work for Nextel, I coded in the billing application. When I turned off test accounts I created in my name, the collections department hounded me.

Nextel ain't gonna let you out of NOTHING.

i have verizon with a 2 year contract and have fullfilled 1 year and want out i live in nj how do you find out if its not legal for a 2 year contract in nj who would i call.

I have never heard of a 2 year contract not being legal anywhere. I work for a cell company, and the lawyers are pretty good with things like these. There is a way no one would have to sign long term contracts, its just that american culture has been bread differently than the rest of the world. Go to a European or Aisian culture, and there are short or no contracts. Then again the dont get "free" phones either. American buyers have been bread to think that there IS a free phone, and well.. that just isnt so. Most dont understand that the phones cost between $140-400 bucks each.. they just have this mentality that they paid 20-30-50 bucks (or nothing) for the phone and when something goes wrong with it that they should just get a new phone, or released from the contract at no cost to them. They do not see the initial costs involved.

Legally I do not believe there is truly a way to get out of the contract if the company does not want to let you out.. that is the POINT of them.
