Default 271 speaker placement

Does anyone have any suggestions for aftermarket speaker placement on a 95' 271. I would like to put a pair of 6" or 6x9's just above the bench seat drink holders on that vinyl covered piece. Has any put speakers here before and how much room is there? I'm thinking about a couple of 8's or 10's under the bench seat. Thanks for your comments!

I ussually put a pair of 10's to the middle of the seat and then a pair of Babb 6X9's to the outside. This works weel and sounds good. You can do a lot of different things and what you are thinking about may work however be aware that putting speakers that high up in the boat puts them right in peoples faces and it can get annoying that way.

I had a 99 271 and I put 61/2 mb quarts on the vinyl above the cup holders. There is plenty of room

I have 96' 271 and I installed a pair of 8" subs and 6x9's under the rear bench. They worked great all summer rain or shine sounds good too. I'll post some pic's tomorrow...

There ya go Troutly plenty of room Ya had me second guessing myself there I have put 10's in your old boat. Not easy but was doable. The thing is no matter what your boat is the seats are ussually the same height. I seem to recall with Norts even doing some mods to the brace that ran in the back?
