Default Distributor Rotation?

Please confirm for me....
Mark IV 454, distributor rotation is clockwise... correct???? Wiring my new plug wires to the caps but don't have the dist gears installed yet.... please confirm rotation.

There is an easy way to determine which direction a distributor rotates... on any engine... make or model that has a centrifical timing advance. The rotor will only rotate in the same direction the rotor turns, and then the spring returns it to the static position.

Mk IV has no centrifugal advance.

exactly... (on the advance part)...
Thanks for the confirmation. Dressing out the engines now.... get the Sonic back this week. Hope to "stab" the engines in the next 2-3 weeks.
The "Too Old" trailer queen may live again!!

What distributor are you guys running? If I remember correctly my MSD distributors had advances.

Thunderbolt ignition doesn't have mechanical advance.
