just got my new f250 with the 60 diesel and 5 speed. joe is sending me the edge chip under hood with 3 settings and a new green air filter. my computer says 14.3 mpg only has 1,000 miles on it . what kind of mileage can i expect without the chip and with the chip upgrade. joe said to leave it on the medium setting just dont tow hard without gauges. anyone have experience with any of this?

Jim, I left Wed after work around 4pm and drove straight through to Missouri, approx. 10.5 hours, I was checkin out my paint job. I drove between 70-79 mph, with a few bursts to 97 (rev limiter) to blow it out, and used the cruise as much as possible, I averaged 17.1. I left 2pm Thursday drove through a snow storm and did the trip in 9.5 hours, all down hill
and got 18.6 mph. I also have the Attitude, set it on level 3 which is 80hp.
Around town, stop n go I get 12.9 stock, with the Attitude only about .5-1 additional mpg, its more noticable on the freeway. I also have a Turbo back Duall DPPI system and a Proguard 7 air filter, all these mods also help mpg, Hope this helps you. Jeff

jazz will mine get better as it gets broken in. what does your computer say for the average. mine is still going up but right now shows 14.3 mostly city driving, do you think the edge and filter will give me 2-3 more mph. id be happy with that after having the v-10 at 10mph. does the 7,3 do better than 18.6 really. i also have 373 geears which should help.

Jim, I have the XLT version, I couldnt afford the Lariat
so no computer. My city driving is job to job, 1 to 3 miles apart, half the time I leave it running, or Im pulling guys and or equipment and lumber delivery trucks out of the mud. Thats why my city mileage is low. The modules will help, and especially when towing, plus monitoring boost, trans temp, egts, and so on, to me its worth the money, even though I trade every year, the modules go onto the next truck. New: F250 CC 6.0 PSD Auto SRW 3.73
Lifetime (108k miles) avg is right @ 16 MPG. Had a chip for a bit (50hp) which didnt hurt, didnt help mileage. High of 21, low of 11.something. I certainly hope the 6.0 is at least comparable to it..
My F350 7.3 PSD Stick DRW 3.73 flatbed trucks get avg of 12 - 14 MPG now. I am trying the auto since drivers who can handle a stick are few and far between these days (first question in interview anymore
) and if it holds up to my leadfoot driving I will order the new delivery trucks with it, but man f the MPG drops a bunch I may have to rethink this..
