Default expected mph gains?

3 identical boats one with 500efi( 470pshp) runs 72-73 mph gps ,one with 525sc(490pshp) runs 75 mph gps what would the same boat run with 575 efi (550pshp) ?

I get 79 using old rule of thumb

SQRT (new hp)
----------------------- x Old speed = New speed
SQRT (old Hp)
