Default What color GPS/Chartplotters are you using?

I'm replacing a gray scale Simrad unit and want to go color.

Looking at:

Simrad 34/44/54 series
Garmin 2006C and 2010C
Standard Horizon CP1000C
Navman 5600 and 6600

Would really appreciate any advice from those using any of these. What you like, dislike, where you found the best prices, etc...

Check out Northstar. We just got a Northstar 6000i for the Apache. The screen is easily readable in direct light and the features on this unit are endless. Heck, it will even serve as a TV screen if you want! I have used Furuno, Standard Horizon and Garmin products in the past, but I was very impressed with the Northstar when I compared them side by side at our local boat show last week.

Northstar

Garmin 2010C. I shopped around until I found it for about $2100, then called BoatUS, who agreed to match the price. ZERO regrets. Controlsl are very intuitive, and options are reasonable. (Hopefully, they'll add a TV reciever module one day....)

Standard Horizon CP1000C

Works real well, display is pretty good in sunlight. Best mode on trips in rough water is bearing, tracking and mph, all in BIG numbers...very easy to see. Has video mode which is cool for hooking up DVD or cameras. 2 year warranty (twice what Garmin has i think). Joystick a bit more sensitive than Garmin's which ya gotta get used to when trying to adjust while running fast in rough water.

Always had Garmins in the past which were a little more intuitive to me, but I have gotten use to the Standard and I really like the large display.

I have had zero problems with the unit and would highly recommend it.

Garmin in the Velocity, Lowrance in the Proline. Like them both.
