Default 330 rebiuld???

ok i havea a 330 sitting in my garage, its the old engine from my boat. My plan was to rebiuld it as a mild 3-4 psi blower motor.

After talkign to the machine shop it was determinded that i could reuse the cast crank and rods and block.

I was going to convert it to 4 bolt mains and put new forged pistons and replace eveythign else.

He figured it woudl be $2500 to do the shortblock (the heads were already redone prior to pulling the shortblock from the baot)

am i better of rebiulding it and sellign it as a mild blower motor or sellgin it as a 330 that might or might not need a rebiuld?

I did a lot of research on it and came to the conclusion that the 2 bolt block was just fine with arp studs up to about 650 hp. Assuming everything was done correctly of course.

Cant you buy a 4 bolt shortblock cheaper than $2500? Seems kind of expensive, and I doubt you would ever recover your costs.

2 bolt yes. i was going to convert it to 4 bolt if i do teh rebiuld. I'm calling another machine shop tommorow owned by a friend of a friend. He might be able to come up with a better price than $2500 for doign a shortblock.
