does anybody know of a air filter that will work with a M3 Procharger? I can get a 4.5" rubber elbow from Procharger but they dont have a filter that will work. maybe a K&N style, any ideas?

most boat motors don't run air filters. just flame arrestors. ATI makes an airhorn for the M3 with arrestor screens in it.

Ive seen pleated fabric (k&n style) cone shaped filters that will "fit" but you usually don't have room for it in a Procharger install.

the problem is the valvecover tubes that go to the airhorn cause a light spattering of oil all over the port side of the bilge. Vortech and Whipple come with a flame arrestor / filter on their kits. I figured that somebody on the board would have a solution for me. Procharger used to offer it but stopped due to clearance issues with all of the different types of exhaust manifolds.

These are aluminum, not cheap chrome steel. These have washable elements in them and PCV's. They drain collected oil back into the valve cover when at rest. If you're collecting more oil than these will contain then you might need to wonder about your piston ring seals. Also, if you are not running baffles in your valve cover (around the breather) then see if you can get some made that will clear your rockers.

A filter on the blower may keep the oil from being slung around, but it will drool off the bottom of the gauze element all down the side of your exhaust manifolds and burn off all stinky later.

Thanks, I called Procharger back today and Dorian hooked me up with a elbow and filter, the filter is mounted vertically so there will be no problem with oil dripping on the manifold.

A vertical cone should work great. Just drain the oil out of the intercooler every so often.
