As long as I can remember (10 years) I have always gone to the Gold Cup on Lake Washington to see this Miss Bud. Damn Shame....

Hmmm. Isn't amazing how one person can be the glue. RIP Bernie.

That is very sad news. I was going to say the same thing, Cord. Bernie was the lifeblood of that team.

The Miss Budweiser boat and team has been an iconoclastic staple of boat racing for as far as I can remember. Their presence will be missed!

I hope that this is not the beginning of the end for Unlimiteds. They, as has offshore racing, had a troubled past. I hope that the sport will continue and maybe even have an annual award in Bernie's name. Maybe for the team showing the most heart and dedication. I don't think there is ANYONE in any form of boat racing that has showed the grit, determination, desire, competitive nature and TRUE SPORTSMANSHIP as did Bernie Little.

They have been a part of unlimited hydro racing for so long that I always thought they were a racing team that made beer on the side.

I have been going to the hydroplane races on the Detroit river since the early 1970's. Miss Bud and Atlas Van Lines were the cream of the crop then. Year after year they duked it out. Atlas dropped out a few years ago when the Frisbee family decided to stop funding the team. Now Bud is gone too. I hope someone new steps up to fill the void.
