Default Day trip from Orlando

My wife and I are going to be in Orlando in a couple of weeks, part business part pleasure. We would love to run to either coast and check out marinas and/or lunch spots where performance boaters may hang out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You have Daytona which is about 40 minutes from Orlando. Tampa takes a little over a hour. St. Pete is just north of Tampa. Ft. Myers is about 2 hours depending which way you drive. Miami is about 4 hours.

I dont know too many of the hang out spots just yet. I know we were hanging out at Monty's in Miami during the boat show. But you should be able to find places at any of these cities.

Daytona Beach is 50 min. north east of Orlando. There you can find Halifax Marina and Carribbean Jacks.

There is a new restaurant at Halifax called The Stock Echange and is reported to be a a good dining place.

Also, some go boats drop by the Ponce Inlet Marina. There are three eating places there. The Inlet, and Down the Hatchare two that we have been to.

Thanks Gdfatha,

We were thinking we would head towards St Pete but maybe Daytona would be a better option. I'll look up the places you suggested. Thanks again

If you are traveling up/down I-4 Velocity boat manufacturing plant is just north of Orland.. You can see them from the highway. There were about 1/2 dozen sitting there yesterday.
