A few pics of our Skater plant tour today
Myself, Cord, Scooter, MitchStellin and our significant others toured the Skater facility today. Thanks to Cris, the General Manager for his time and patience (Cord asked a LOT of questions!!)
This is where the boats start. Notice the canopy mold on the floor. Those are deck hatches after being vacuum bagged on the tables. Cris on the right.

This is the mold for their new 30 footer. This is the first hull from this mold (it's in the mold still.... curring)

Hull in the mold of the new wide 36.... called the 368 (the 8 means it's 8 inches wider than the older hull)

4 boats waiting to turn the corner into the finishing side of the plant. Cris tells us these boats might be finished in a year. I guess you have to be very patient if you want a new Skater.

A 36 in the finishing side. They use aircraft bondo as filler. Notice no rubrail.

They also build all their own trailers. One guy does all the welding and fitting. All day, every day.

Nice. Thanks for the pics.
I need to do a tour sometime. Have no idea how they do it. But probably should go thru Bayliner so I can see it go from start to finish while I'm there.
