Nobody will stand behind a 900 hp motor for a year cause the operator is the single biggest factor affecting the longevity of the motors and the builder has no control over that variable.

If they DO offer an ironclad warranty, then they are going to be charging you for two motors (the one you bought and the one they'll put in if you blow it up).

Chief or Pfaff
If I remember right, D-Man got some unreal time out of his Pfaff engines in his Cig.

I think Dman has over 1000 hours on his motors...I would go with Total Marine Performance or Pfaff. I am going with TMP just because they are closest to me.

You won't go wrong with either one

What are the 820's. Are they complete? Internals?

We can help you with your engines. We offer the only EFI engines 650HP and up with a one year warranty. Also, our engines are complete and ready to drop in the boat. Including exhaust, thermostatic oil system, all accessories, bell housings, etc. We've worked with several boat builders, so our engines are set up to their specs.

Default Motors

Also talk with Randy at Cobra Power. I have had good dealings with him in the past. In particular was a pair of 700's I purchased from him, dropped a valve in the first 30 minutes of running. I called him, he sent me a brand new 700 the very next day. The new motor was sitting on my floor before I had the old one out.

Thank you Randy. That's the way to take care of your customers. The motors ran great after that and he does run longer warranties on big motors.

Whirly.
