Default Velvet Drive oil cooler fittings

Are the oil cooler fittings that screw into the Velvet Drive 3/8" pipe thread? I need to buy AN to pipe adapters and want to make sure I bring the right one's.

I am planning on plumbing my engine and tranny coolers this weekend and want to make sure I buy and bring along the right AN fittings/adapters. Unfortunately, I only have access to it on the weekends and it sucks when I don't bring along the right stuff...TIA.

They are 3/8 pipe. Make sure when connect the hoses that the oil and water move in opposite directions in the oil cooler. The top port on the trans. is the out or to cooler and the bottom port is the return. Never use thread tape, use Loctite PST 561.

Marinetrans,

You're tha' man, a real asset to this forum. Thanks for the advise.

My manual also says that the cooler lines need to be at least 13/32" ID (.41"). Do you have a preference for -08 (.44") or -10 (.56"), or is either sufficent?

-08 should be good. You can use a Gates push on hose, its good for 280 psi and that trans. is making very low pressure through the cooler.
