Default motor cuts out or dies at high rpm's

I have a 496 HO with approx. 70 hours on it and just recently when I really get into it at high rpm's it either sputters or completely dies, then I turn the key and it re-starts immediately.Possible fuel filter problem?

I had the same thing happen, follow the rubber line from the fuel tank to the small fuel pump, remove the fitting in front of the pump and there is a screen there, i'll bet that screen is clogged, mine was and i cleaned it and the problem was gone. They now put a small stainless filter in the fuel line to prevent this from happening.........

I have one of the small stainless steel filters installed and the outlet side of the filter was bent causing the element inside to be crooked. Could that of been the problem? I replaced it but haven't tested it yet. I also checked the filter screen before the pump and it was fairly clean. I'm not sure it is a fuel problem, would that cause it to just die at high rpm's? and then restart immediately most of the time? Any suggestios would be helpful.

How much fuel do you have when this happens, once my pickup in the tank cracked and would suck air.
