Default engine alignment?

How can I prove or disprove if my engine is not straight?

I recently had a motor mount stringer replaced. I'm putting Lightnings on the boat and the starboard colector is like 3" from the transom(I can't get the 90* pipe in there), where the port collector is about 6" away. Could the engine have been put back in cocked and that's causing it? If I take a tape to the engine mounts shouldn't they be equal distance from the transom?

Please help...

no one head sits farther forward than the other.actually the whole motor is off set .it all stems from the rods being next to each other on the crank so everthing must be offset just look at the front of the heads port side is farther forward.

ANY time the drive is removed the engine alignment should be checked.
If the engine is removed the alignment MUST be checked.
