I was just watching the players championship on cbs and Daly is at the tee waiting to go while smoking a cigarette. Surprisingly, they showed him smoking on tv. Then he hits his drive and picks his butt off of the ground and takes a drag. Not saying its great because he was smoking, just the fact that he does'nt care what anyone thinks.

He is a fans favorite. Since Tiger (about a million strokes back) is out of the running, Daly still has a chance to win .

However, a cold spell is expected to come in tomorrow. Temps should drop in to the hi 70s..

I was very surprised that BIG TV showed that...they have not really showed that in the past...Daly is quite the charactor

I have followed Daly at several tournaments. He is a really good guy. He is one of the few golfers who will acknowledge his fans. Often giving hi 5s and signs autographs for kids.

I had a chance to meet John Daly. We maintain the HVAC in a house that was rented for the "Big Golf Thing" at Oakmont CC in Oakmont, PA. This was about 6-7 years ago. Anyway, very nice and personable. They sent people to the house before and during the match to make sure there was no alcohol around. He is trying to recover. So, if smoking is the only thing going.......then that's a go. TV or not.
The people in Oakmont and the immediate area rent out their houses for the match and get BIG $$$$$ for them. The other customer of ours, goes on vacation with the money they make.
