Personally ..... I think they are overkill for a pleasure application.

My wife will definitely disagree with you on that one - it is great to be able to actually hold a conversation when you're running. Of course, it makes it hard to pretend you didn't hear her telling you to slow down....

I have a portable aviation set-up and love it on longer runs...short ones we dont get it out. Its also nice if you interface it with your radio then you can talk between boats or call the marina at speed....

Parnell has a set up he enjoys.

Personally I enjoy no one being able to talk to me for an hour or two out of the day. If it's important they can point!

I have had intercoms in both my Daytona and my Jag and would not even think about running without them. Conversation is impossible at speed and I usually enjoy the company that I invite along. The safety factor of having extra spotters during poker runs is invaluable. I like to know what's passing me and on what side, I never seem to have the fastest cat! Doug

I have been looking at the revolution marine intercom with the throat mics and alarm interface. I have been looking for pros and cons on both systems.
