Default Whats a Quicksilver Steering Set Worth

Complete system, including the helm, rotary rack, and 14' cable assembly. What's it worth to sell?

Great condition, just upgraded to full hydraulic.

I might be interested, but have no idea what it's worth. I have to see how long my cable is this weekend. 24' boat. Let me what you're thinking for price.

Me too. From a 33' Fountain - worked fine until I replaced it with a Latham full hydraulic setup. For a twin TRS application.

I can measure the steering cable if anyone is interested.

Cheap.

Make me an offer (reasonable) I don't know what a good used set up goes for.

Guys, I know this thread is from some time ago.... I'm having some issues with my quicksilver steering and without going to a full hydraulic system, I'm trying to understand the different parts of the quicksilver which are behind the helm.... I was hoping you might be able to give me some insight since most of you have been through removing these things or replacing them.... here's what I've got...

I have a 31ss Sonic with tilt factory steering and have about 4" of play in the steering wheel and get a single click sound when I turn the wheel either to the left or right.

Looking behind the dash, I can see the flat disc like mechanism that is connected to both the steering cable and shafted to the steering wheel. I'm able to move this back and forth about 30 degrees. I can see the disc shaft going into the steering wheel assemble is splined and I can see that the shaft moves freely from one spline to another, I'm guessing it's so worn it has that much room between the splines.

I've never had one of these things apart, where do I start?
Do I have to replace the entire assembly or just some parts to remove the slop and the single click noise?

Click this link to some pics of what I'm describing.. in the pics you can see the metal shaft going into the black splines on the back of the steering wheel assembly. Again, to me it looks like the slop is where the metal shaft meets the black splined assembly.

Should I be able to take the entire black disk section and turn it 30 degrees by and without it moving the black splined section?

Can I replace some parts or do I need to go with something from like Teleflex?

Thanks in advance for your help!
