what should i use -- and how should i change it?


just got 20 hours on it -- and figure its time to do it!

I have asked about this, and the response I usually get is the Merc HP gear oil. I have not lost a drive using it (yet!), and Merc supposedly uses it for race applications as well. I was told that they put a lot of R&D into developing the formula.

Plus if you are running low one weekend, you can just run into most marina's and pick up a quart - won't be able to do that with aftermarket oils.

Do a search on this forum (see bottom of page) using the key words "drive" + "oil". Then, get yourself a cup of coffee and sit down for a good long read!
