I ordered a new 35 Nordic w/525's XR w/sportmaster lowers and have been told that the sportmasters only work on tunnels. Reasoning, the sportmaster creates stern lift that hurts Vee hulls.

Any help would be appreciated.

You might want to contact Randy Hanson that has Pet This. The 38 Hustler with 575's and Sportmasters. I think from what I have heard that he couldn't be happier but I'm not sure.

Your props have more to do with bow/stern lift than your drives. If you find you need more bow lift, you can send your props to Throttle Up or Houston Props to have them cupped differently. I think with that setup you should try a stainless steel 5-blade.

One of the main reasons for the Sportmaster lower is the better skeg. If you are running a high Xdim. you want the sport masters for better control.

We are running the Sportmaster XRs with the ITS setup on a Gladiator and they have been great. From what we have seen, there are no problems running them on a vee hull.

Hot Duck.......do yo have any pics of the side and front.............your idea in the rear to keep the cover on is great. I had the same thing in mind. Especially to keep the cover from slapping the gel

Thanx for the info. Nordic advised against the Sportmasters because of stern lift. Not sure why had nose cones on my 2000 35 and it ran great.

Looks like Sportmaters it is.
