Wink ProCharger Question? on 1999 454/502 MAG engine

I recently purchased a M1 Procharger, it is the 3.5 psi kit, I also got the fuel system upgrade kit, areomotive fuel pump/ and reg. My question is do I need to upgrade my fuel system if I only run 3.5 psi of boost? I am going to have Arizona Speed and Marine reprogram my ECU and get a 2bar map sensor. I want the Procharger to be safe and reliable, I also do not want any motor problems, the motor is a 1999 454 MAG EFI(385hp)68hrs of use. Any tips and info on install would be helpful. Also any pics of installed Procharger would also help, trying to figure out where to move oil cooler. Thanks for the help.

Tell ASM what you are planning to run. Let them do the ECU change, and if they advise you to run something other than the Add-on regulator, then follow their advice.

Default Here's the set up you are building

WHat are you talking about with the oil cooler?? Isn't it on the rear of the engine near the bell housing?

A freind of mine is installing a pro charger on his 454mag , his main concearn is reliability. After quite a bit of research he decided to install a pyrometer to moniter exaust temps. I guess excessive exaust temps can lead to massive failures. He claims he should be able to run his higher boost pulley safely and reliably just as long as the pyro reads within range.

For what its worth its just something to consider as you sometimes hear of people blowing up there motors after installing superchargers.

We moved it to the bell housing left side and vertical.

Pantera can you E-mail me the pics you took? I want to also know about the fuel system, AS&M told me to run the areomotive fuel pump/ and regulator, also to get 50lbs injectors and have the computer reprogramed for the blower in stall, what should I do with the original cool fuel setup? Do I really need all that fuel for only 3.5 psi of boost? Should I use the stock lines or buy aftermarket ones? Should I keep the stock anti siphon valve in the tank? I also want the stock cold start mode, should I use 120 degree T-stat and the crossover or no thermostat? I am new to installing a charger and I cant get any real info from any one. any help would be app. My E-mail address is [email protected]

Do the fuel system you should be fine with the stock injectors but increase the fuel pick up and return lines you need one. I don't run a t-stat. Change your oil upon any consumption and keep an eye out for fuel in your oil that will be a sign of needed freshening. Be careful with the drive and change the gear oil every 20 - 25 hours or so.
