U.S Customs is a joke
I need to vent!!! I Ordered 2 sets of Victory Thim tabs, one set was sent and delivered in about a week. The other was sent on April 5, it arrived in Detroit on the 6 and is still sitting in some dark cold room all alone while I'm ready to go boating. They can't stop Illegal Immigrants or Drugs but they can stop my trim tabs. Whats wrong with this picture, Don't they know it's going to be sunny and 80 deg. this weekend

i had some leatherlike material sent from greece and got a call from customs because they couldn't figure out why the box weighed so much and when xrayed they couldn't tell what it was. got delivered by customs so they could see that is was actually material like i told them on the phone

Customs they are bad about keeping your stuff

I work in the customs building in Houston and I will agree that some things are bassackwards...They stop general mechandise, but tons of steroids, ilegal prescription drugs, and even rare birds get through. I see all the things they confiscate from IAH and you would'nt believe what they bring in. Someone sent Hakeem Olajawon $300,000 in jewelry from Africa and he had to come in his self to claim it. Not insured or anything, just tossed the stones in a bag in a box and mailed away

I once had a broker accidentally ship some "safety" equipment to the wrong country. It could not be re-directed to the intended country so it had to be returned to the US. Even though it never cleared customs in the other country it had to be cleared here.
I got a call from the US Customs requesting to test an some "unknown liquids". No problem, go ahead. (It was eyewash solution). The next week I got a notice and fine for trying to import unapproved drugs into the US.
Eyewash solution; manufactured in New Jersey. It took about 6 months to get it cleared up.
