That race was actually the run where Bob Nordskog set the San Fran to LA record (5:57:22 - I think it benefitted the Olympics, which were held in LA that summer.
I'm sure this was the Program for that event.

Annually the Bob Nordskog Memorial Trophy is awarded by his son, Jerry, in his honor and memory at the Ventura Offshore Powerboat Grand Prix, the hometown event the "Iron Man" sponsored and competed in for years in the Pacific Ocean waters next to the headquarters of Powerboat magazine."
